Letter to the Editor: Thank you for your support of the Ethnic Studies course
For the publisher,
The idea of a ethnic studies class at Paso Robles High School formed at one of the many meetings that Paso’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Education Committee has held over the past year. The community of Paso, along with the rest of SLO County, has given it life and energy.
DCI is proud and grateful for the immense support from members of the community, ranging from students using the power of their voice, educators at all levels, parents defending our youth and all those working for a fair and equitable school climate. inclusive.
Thank you for the record support emails and multiple calls to the board meetings. We still have a lot of work to do and would love the continued engagement of our community.
Sometimes the most progress is made in regular behind-the-scenes work and through difficult conversations. Other times, we need to be more vocal with our actions like calls and emails. Paso, as co-chairs of the committee, we are proud to be part of a community that is ready to do both when it really matters!
